Hilarious way to start your week, an Email marketer explaining why Lotus Notes is the ’bad guy’ :-)

I LOVE that most of the article discusses predominantly Notes 4.6 / 5 (that's 14 year old technology right there).

And that there's a side-note cursing other applications (Outlook, Gmail, etc) blocking HTML scripts and images "for security reasons".

And "Mel" - the IT security guy - who apparently is also a big "offender".  I like the sound of Mel :-)

But the best bit is that comments are closed to this well constructed, well researched and up-to-date post.  Well done "Andre", whoever you are.  I couldn't find anything like an about me page that discusses your credentials or how to contact you. Oh well.

According to his bio on that post, Andre co-owns Bsleek, a company which specializes in (among other things) web design, but has apparently not yet heard of iPads, judging from the empty gray page one is greeted with upon visiting bsleek.com via one of those newfangled devices.

Ah, and it looks like HE is the bad guy.

Our company's Websense filter doesn't allow me to open the link.

Guess what:

"The Websense category "Sex" is filtered."

Maybe he should check his keywords too ... sex sells but not everytime ;-)

And the cool part - this is an email spammer complaining that Lotus Notes doesn't let him spam people...

That, for me, is a win.

Funny. The US DOD also blocks HTML email. Wish I had started blocking it when I implemented the spam filter here.

His purty-ful flash web page gets blocked by NoScript on my browser. No wonder it fails on an iOS device.

The guy screwed up in his ignorance, talking about 14 year-old version of Notes.

However Lotus Notes is not successful in rendering HTML messages for sure.

This is for version 8 but it's valid for 8.5.3 too.

BTW, look at the list of 'improvement needed' clients:

GMail, Hotmail (Live), MS Outlook and Lotus Notes :)))
