MYTHBUSTING Outlook IS NOT better than Lotus Notes, pt 10: I’m so dumb, I don’t know how to handle groups

Recently I completed some Lotus Notes training for some very experienced Outlook users. These folks weren't run-of-the-mill end-users, they were serious IT guys; in fact, they ran the help desk, so they knew what they were doing.At the conclusion of the 'This is Notes' phase of the training, I needed them to populate their inbox's fairly quickly, so I had them all send some messages to one another using a Public Group that they were all a member of, and then reply to those messages.
At that point I wanted to demonstrate the power of the 'All Documents' view.
I couldn't.
None of the replies that anyone had sent appeared in the 'All Documents' view of Lotus Notes!
After my #WTH moment, I asked one of the guys reply to a message sent to the group again, and watched him choose the "Send Only" option!
Microsoft Outlook connected to Exchange is not clever enough to identify that you are a member of a group, and therefore sends you a copy of a message they YOU yourself have SENT to the GROUP, so if you 'Send and Save' you end up with DUPLICATES of the same message!
Lotus Notes knows how to handle groups. Has done for years.
The thing about this very simple EMAIL feature is that stuff you have SENT will appear in your SENT folder in Lotus Notes, along with your All Documents view indicating it was a message you SENT, WITHOUT creating duplicate entries like Outlook does.
I was astounded that Outlook wasn't clever enough as a MAIL CLIENT to perform this simple operation, but then again ... it's just another example of how Lotus Notes is a superior product.
Outlook: I'm so dumb, I don't know how to handle groups!
