The last few weeks have been a roller-coaster for myself and my family. And it all began during a quick chat with Brian Cheng, whom many of you would know as one of the Demo Gods from the last couple of Lotusphere/Connect conferences.After 18 years of being a Notes / Domino / SMTPMTA / Pump / DB2 / LearningSpace / DominoDoc / QuickR / Sametime / Traveler / Protector / Connections ... consultant, Brian asked me a simple question:
"How would you like to be responsible for Notes in one of the largest growth markets in the world?"
Let me think about that for a moment ... oh wait ...
So here I am. In Singapore as the IBM ASEAN Collaboration Executive.
I've been tasked to work with the Notes/Domino/Sametime/Smartcloud team for ICS that includes Thailand, Malaysia, The Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore and Brunei to consolidate our customer base and help grow IBM Collaboration Solutions adoption in the region.
It's been a few couple of weeks settling into the role, meeting customers, partners and IBMers. Now the fun begins.
And finally I can say something that's been 18 years in the making: I'm proud to be an IBMer.
