Cooking is almost as satisfying as building things. The problem of course being the obvious one that not long after you've finished your creation in the kitchen, it's disappeared.

Which is nice, because it must mean that people in our home like my cooking.

My passion for food started not long after I left home. That's when I realised just how good a cook my mother is. Living a long way from your parents also has the drawback that you can't just duck-in and have a great meal whenever you want to.

So I had to learn how to cook, or visit restaurants for the rest of my life.

I won't even mention how abysmal my first attempts were. Suffice to say that experience and some great books and web-sites have dramatically improved my culinary skills.
